To welcome the Lunar New Year, Bodhi Meditation Center in Los Angeles hosted a series of festive activities to ring in the season. Kicking things off was the “Spring Festival Fair” held before the New Year, featuring offerings of light to the Buddha, spiritual divination, traditional hand-washing blessings, market stalls, festive foods, stage performances, and prize-winning games. Everyone came together in a joyful atmosphere to celebrate the New Year.

On Lunar New Year’s Eve, a sumptuous reunion dinner was shared, allowing everyone to enjoy the warmth and togetherness of this cherished Spring Festival tradition.
At 11 p.m. on Lunar New Year’s Eve, attendees offered the first incense to the Buddha with sincere prayers for a smooth and successful year ahead, filled with good fortune and happiness!
🧧 Welcoming the God of Wealth on the Fifth Day of the Lunar New Year
This year, the fifth day of the Lunar New Year happened to fall on a Sunday, making it a perfect holiday for celebration. From early morning, the meditation center was bustling with excitement as hundreds of practitioners gathered to warmly welcome the arrival of the God of Wealth!
With the resounding beat of drums and gongs, the welcoming ceremony officially began. Accompanied by an auspicious dragon and lively lion dancers, the God of Wealth made a grand entrance, bringing an abundance of blessings and prosperity. Everyone followed the lion dance procession around the center and offered devout prayers to the Buddhas in the shrine hall, creating a scene that was both solemn and full of festive joy.
Afterward, under the guidance of the teacher, everyone followed Grandmaster JinBodhi in chanting the Yellow Jambhala Mantra, feeling the blessings and prosperous energy bestowed by the Yellow Jambhala. Attendees offered incense and prayers to the Buddha, and personally hand-copied the Yellow Jambhala Mantra to place before the altar, infusing their sincere wishes into every stroke.
To conclude the event, the meditation center gifted each participant a Yellow Jambhala thangka and a blessing gift bag, so everyone could bring home the abundant blessings of the Buddhas and the God of Wealth.
