33rd Anniversary of Bodhi Meditation

On Sunday, July 21, 2024, the Bodhi Meditation Center in Los Angeles hosted a major celebration to honor the 33rd anniversary of Grandmaster JinBodhi’s teachings, as well as to commemorate Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s Enlightenment Day. The event drew hundreds of attendees, all coming together to express their heartfelt gratitude.

33 years ago, Grandmaster JinBodhi made a compassionate vow to “liberate all sentient beings.”  Since then, his footsteps have traveled across the globe, never stopping, and millions of people have found health and happiness through the meditation practices he has taught! It is because of this wonderful connection that we gather here today to celebrate this special day, expressing our gratitude to the Grandmaster and to Guan Yin Bodhisattva.

The event began at 10 a.m. with a solemn and dignified memorial ceremony. During the ceremony, everyone chanted in unison to pray for blessings, offering flowers and khatas to express their deep appreciation for the Grandmaster’s compassionate teachings and for the ever-present protection of Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s boundless compassion. Following this, everyone devoutly received a powerful energy blessing, and the atmosphere was filled with warmth and harmony.

Following that, the event transitioned into a festive celebration, featuring a variety of lively performances that brought endless joy and surprises to everyone. The captivating song and dance performances, traditional instrument recitals, and martial arts demonstrations kept the audience thoroughly entertained, with applause echoing throughout the venue.

The event also featured various market stalls and a food section with a wide array of delicious snacks and products that were hard to resist. While enjoying the tasty food, attendees could also play fun games and try their luck at winning some fantastic prizes.

Alongside the celebration, various consultation services were offered. Teachers leading the spiritual divination sessions patiently answered the attendees’ questions, providing timely guidance and assistance. The ‘Golden Basin Hand Washing’ ritual is a process of cleansing both body and mind, symbolizing a fresh start and renewal. The teachers carefully scooped water to wash each participant’s hands, offering individual blessings.

In addition, various blessing services were available to meet the diverse needs of everyone. The sutra blessings bestowed wisdom, while the vehicle blessings helped to ward off misfortune and ensure safety on the road.
