Medicine Buddha Birthday Celebration (2024.10.27)

The Los Angeles Bodhi Meditation Center hosted a vibrant celebration in honor of the Medicine Buddha last Sunday, attracting many attendees to take part in the event.

The event began with the unveiling of the Medicine Buddha bluestone statue, followed by a heartfelt ceremony where participants offered flowers and hadas to express their devotion and receive Buddha’s compassionate blessings.

🌸 Prayers and Blessings 🌸
The ceremony included a special blessing ritual where the presiding teacher offered water blessings to everyone, praying for peace, health, and happiness under the Medicine Buddha’s protection.

💰 Wealth Blessings from Yellow Jambhala 💰
With a large Yellow Jambhala  Tangka overhead, attendees lined up for wealth blessings from the “God of Fortune,” hoping to bring abundance and prosperity into their lives. Additional blessings for safe travels and personal well-being were also offered, making the event truly special.

🎉 Vibrant Performances 🎉
The celebration featured a lively Tibetan dance by the San Marino Dance Group, along with captivating musical performances, martial arts, and the melodious sounds of the guzheng, filling the venue with joy and excitement.

🍜 Delicious Food and Marketplace 🍜
Guests enjoyed the center’s signature vegetarian noodles and explored a variety of snacks, traditional and Western desserts, and health products from the Grandmaster JinBodhi’s Wellness Center. There were also stalls offering seasonal dried goods and daily essentials, creating a lively market atmosphere.

In the meditation hall, participants could quietly copy the Medicine Buddha mantra, draw sacred lots for guidance, or wash hands in a golden basin—each activity symbolizing prayers for protection and good health.
